Ria started summering on Shelter Island in 2003 and opened a high-end beach store at the acclaimed Sunset Beach hotel. The boutique, called Sundays at Sunset Beach, became known for its high-low merchandising and as the kind of place where you could walk in barefoot and sandy and shop for a glamorous day-into-night resort experience. After 7 years, she passed the store on to the hotel but kept the house she acquired and the lifestyle that her growing family had come to love.
